In 2012, AKK members of the Active Circle Kenya organized two major fundraising events to attract new members and support community projects. The first event was a raffle at a local festival in August, showcasing items from Kenya. Despite challenging weather, the event was a success, raising eight times the invested amount. The second event, a flea market in December, took place on a rare dry day amidst a cold spell but still drew customers despite competition from a nearby Christmas market. The sales, including German sausages and mulled wine, contributed to the success.
