First Topic Enhance EWEC development potential to economic connectivity • Route no.9, Route no.12 and Route no.8, must be enhanced the potential from transport corridor to economic corridor • Integrated logistics - Land-Rail-Sea • Border trade, cross border transport and transshipment • FDI Investment • Special Border Economic Zone • Tourism and Other services. • The mechanism devicewhich are the Provincial Governor cooperate with private sector and local organization. • Move forward the development of economic and local community by integrating the objective and mission with the provincial organizations.

  3. Second Topic Key achievement of EWEC • The accomplishment of CBTA implementationand mechanism support for trade facilitation • Move economic forward and increase the efficiency of moving goods, services, people, trade and investment

Third Topic Using equilibrium and sustainable development basis • Less-developed area can take advantage from development in appropriate proportion • Distribute income and well-being of population who are vulnerableto be protected • Environmental and cultural effect and local livelihood together with sustainable development

Fourth Topic Business Development along EWEC • Shift border connectivity from transport corridor to economic corridor • Uses the infrastructure as a basis for economic development • Using the transport as a basis for transshipment connectivity. • It should not emphasize only the border trade. • Shift up transport base to international trade

  6. Business Development along EWEC 2. Make clearly positioning of the route no.12 and no.9 • Using the infrastructure as a basis for economic development • The route no.9, the position should be gateway which will be connected to the South of Vietnam. • the route no.12, the position should be the connecting route to the North of Vietnam and Nanning, city in the South of China.

  7. Business Development along EWEC 3. EWEC development needs to be connected with South-South Corridor, particularly the connectivity to Karnchanaburi - Dawei Route and Dawei Port Development Project in the South of Myanmar. In addition, it should utilize the potentiality of main regional port, such as Laemchabang, HaiPhong, Danang and Sihanoukville.

  8. Business Development along EWEC 4. Supporting Model City and develop Border Town. In case of Thailand, there is a proposal project to support • Maesod-Myawadee and Aranyaprated-Poipet as the border co-production and manufacturing investment, • Nakornpanom-Khammouan, and Mukdaharn-Sawanakhet will be established as the co-tourism model city. • For Logistics, Model City Project offered to develop Karnchanaburi - Baanpunamron as the border town connecting to Dawei Port in Myanmar

The implementation of Single Harmonize Formalities and standardization . • Trade facilitation improve such as government rules, regulations, trade facilitation • Supporting international standard for Door to Door delivery. • Reduce NTB among GMS member country should be improved.

  10. Business Development along EWEC 6. The development of business along EWEC Border shall have the integrated strategic plan. • Frontier province strategy which needs to integrate for macro perspective while harmonizing with the national plan. • The local organization shall make the local strategic plan which shows the strong point and the advantage from development and to reduce the vulnerability.

  11. The Development of Infrastructure and Transport Connectivity within East-West Corridor • The regulations relevant to CBTA, rules, trade and transport facilitation have not the connectivity. • The regulation of each country cannot be implemented efficiently. • The economic corridor link which cover the connectivity of international agreement both AEC and GMS.
