  10. And This?

  11. Writing: Stroke Order • Basic Rules: • Horizontal before vertical (十) • First pie then na(八) • Top before bottom (六) • Left before right (你) • Outside before inside (国) If you’re not sure you can check online: http://mandarintools.com/shufa.html

  12. Typing • If you know pinyin and can recognize characters you can type many words without actually being able to write them by hand! • If you have your own laptop you can enable it to type Chinese permanently (depending on your version of Windows you may need to install Chinese language support). • If you don’t have your own computer or can’t figure out how to install Chinese correctly you can use an online input editor: • http://www.chinese-tools.com/tools/ime.html • http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/webime2.php?ime=mand_simp

  13. Typing: Additional Tools • Other tools can help you to convert Hànzì to pīnyīn, define words, etc. • I use a tool called DimSum. You can download it and install it from: • http://www.mandarintools.com/dimsum.html • This online annotator does some of the same things, but you don’t have to install anything new on your computer. • http://www.chinese-tools.com/tools/annotation.html
