Recruiting • Newspaper Ads • Patty’s will be using Newspaper Adds as their main method of recruiting for these reason: • Cheaper • Almost everyone reads newspapers • Easier to reach a specific amount of people in one area • Get results much faster • People expect to find job advertisements in newspapers, so they know where to look • Flexibility of add size and placement • In order to recruit employees, many different methods will be used to ensure that Patty’s is able to reach all possible applicants. These methods include: • Flyers • Newspaper adds • Adds on Bulletin boards • Online websites (ex. Job hunters, Face book) • Yellow pages

Recruiting • Job Description ~ Cashier • Greeting customers entering patties • Managing the cash register (i.e. receiving payment, issuing change, identifying prices of goods/products etc.) • Maintaining clean and orderly checkout areas • Resolving customer complaints • Answering customers' questions, and providing information on procedures or policies • Record totals of transactions

Selecting • Pre-Interview: • All applicants must submit a resumé • Primary check will select only the top fifteen applicants based on their resumé • References and credentials listed will be verified for authenticity before interviewing candidate   • Thoughts to keep in mind during the interview: • Does this person seem confident? • Are they able to respond to all the questions? • Does this person seem easy to get along with? • Are they tolerant, slow to anger, tactful, empathic, and caring? • Is this person capable of representing Patty’sproperly?

Selecting • Interview Questions: • Why do you want to work here? • How would you describe yourself; your likes and dislikes? • What are your weaknesses? • How would you handle a furious customer? • How would you handle a situation when you ask to do a task that you don't understand? • What would you do if you knew a co-worker was being dishonest? • Are you willing to be flexible?
