  2. Who is Fred Phelps and what does he believe? Fred Phelps was born on November 13, 1929. He is an American pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. Him and his ministry are known for their hateful slogans towards people he deems sinful (aka homosexuals). “God Hates Fags” is their slogan as well as their official website name. This has caused Gay Rights Supporters to denounce him as a producer of Anti-Gay propaganda and violence-inspiring hate speech around the world.
