  1. Let’s lift off! Mighty Milky Way

  2. All about our great Milky Way! The Milky Way is huge! It’s bigger than some Galaxies! It has billions stars, I wouldn’t want to count them all. The Earth is around the center of the Milky Way, and the edge of the Milky Way too. We’re really 27,000 light years away from the heart of the Milky Way! Here are some stars! Do you think you can count them all?

  3. The Milky Way’s colorful stars! The Milky Way has LOTS of stars, that are different colors, the colors tell us about how hot or cold they are. The hottest star is colored Blue. The red stars are the coldest. Did you know the blue star hotter than our star, the Sun? Red stars are still colder than the Sun, but can still burn you. Blue stars burn through their gases faster than any other colored stars, so they may not live longer than any different colored star. Here’s a blue star (above) and a red star (right)

  4. The Life of a Milky Way Star! The life of a star is long! Maybe one million years long! Well, lets just start where a star is born. A star us born from a pink cloud, called a nebula, it pushes gases out and gravity inwards. When everything is perfect…A star is born! Now, lets say there’s a star one million years old. An explosion is about to happen! Boom! There it goes! That’s called a supernova, a huge explosion of a star’s death. After that, the debris of it is everywhere, with the other debris from other supernovas.

  5. The huge black hole! Black holes are huge black circles that use super gravity to grab things into it. Nothing can get away from the huge pitch black hole! Light can’t even get away from the dark hole! Imagine, a star just standing around. A black hole is around. The star gets sucked in! There’s no way out for the star. The black hole sucks the gases out of it! Once it finishes, the rest of the star spit out!

  6. Some words you might want to know! Here are some words you might want to know: Light year: The distance light travels in a year Star: A star is a ball of fire with gas in it Supernova: A explosion of a star’s death. Nebula: A pink glowing cloud that makes a star Black hole: A hole that has super gravity to pull objects into it

  7. What I learned after reading: I learned that the Milky Way is a huge galaxy! I never heard of a Nebula before, but now I know what it is. The color of the stars depend on how hot/cold they are! I never heard about that, I thought all stars were white or yellow. I’ve heard of a supernova but I never knew what it meant. I didn’t know that a Black hole used super gravity. I think it is amazing that we’re on the edge and middle of the Milky way. That’s pretty much it. Bye!
