  4. The New Frontier • Kennedy wins in a close election • The slogan that he runs on is known as “the new frontier” • Pushed for education reforms, health insurance reforms, and civil rights

  5. Successes • Expanded women’s rights by signing the Equal Pay Act- increased women’s pay to that of men • Mental Health Centers Construction Act of 1963- provided grants for research centers, educational training for people to work with mentally challenged population, etc.
