Elemen = objek yg akan dilakukan pengukuran Populasi Sampel  Elementary unit (Observasi) Populasi: himpunan yg mewakili semua pengukuran yang diperlukan dalam observasi (seluruh unit/individu yg akan diteliti) : Populasi adalah luas sawah, umur mahasiswa, berat sapi  bukan sawah, mahasiswa atau sapi. Sampel: sebagian populasi yang diambil menurut prosedur tertentu shg dapat mewakili populasi  relevan, variasi terkecil (homogen). Unit sampling = kumpulan dari unsur-unsur populasi. Elemen: sekumpul individu; sebuah data tunggal (datum): petani, tanaman, ternak, mean (µ) ; variance (σ2); sifat populasi = parameter Sampling frame; subset populasi; Educ/Metolit/Sampling 2
