  3. for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. (1:6-7) • it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. (2:19) • even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. (3:14) Home for homeless people… suffering

  4. It is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. (3:17) • since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. (4:1) • do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. (4:12) Home for homeless people… suffering

  8. Something surprising, something strange? The significance of suffering For believers, persecution is not an unusual occurrence. The absence of opposition by Satan is what would be considered unusual. If you are a Christian and are not experiencing attacks by Satan, or trials of some sort, maybe you need to examine yourself as to whether you are fully committed to Christ or whether you are still trying to keep one foot in the world. Home for homeless people… suffering
