  3. A- Answer the question • Which part of your thesis are you answering? (which body paragraph are you writing?) • Thesis: The Pardoner is evil because he is silly, fat, and ugly. • A- The Pardoner is evil because he is silly. (This is the blank labeled Claim 1 on your outline) Let’s work with this one first.

  4. C- Cite an Example • A- The Pardoner is evil because he is silly. • C- where in the story do I see him being silly? • “The Pardoner sang songs with the Summoner” (line 123) • C- The pardoner shows his silliness when he “sang songs with the Summoner” (123).

  5. E- Explain your point • A- The Pardoner is evil because he is silly. • C- The pardoner shows his silliness when he “sang songs with the Summoner” (123). • E- what does that quote mean and how does it prove that his silliness makes him evil?

  6. ACE Paragraph A • The Pardoner is evil because he is silly. He shows his silliness when he “sang songs with the Summoner” (123). This singing is not the proper way a Pardoner should act. He should be quiet and serious and only care about God and Church, yet he goes around singing songs. This shows how he has turned away from the Christian job he is doing and chosen an evil lifestyle instead. C E
