  3. Patientwithgastrointestinaldisease • History: pain or indigestion, location of pain, factors aggraviating or relieving discomfort, does eating produce pain?, what factors relieve discomfort?, anorexia, weight loss, diarrhea, blood in stool…

  4. Patientwithgastrointestinaldisease • Physical examination: tenderness in right upper quadrant, tenderness in lower quadrants • Other techniques: endoscopy, radiology

  5. GERD Gastrointestinalcontents – ready to reflux + Anti-refluxmechanisms – compromised Clinicalfeatures: heartburn Diagnosis: endoscopy, pH-metry, radiology Treatment: H2receptor antagonists, PPI, life style changes

  10. Main hostile factors ASA + NSAID Helicobacter pylori
