Essential Earthquake Restraints for Safety in High Locations

Earthquake restraints are crucial for items positioned on surfaces at least 3 feet high that may block exits or cause injury if they fall. All open shelves should be equipped with a 3/4” high lip or applied restraints like bars or chains to secure objects. Additionally, any bookcases, filing cabinets, racks, shelves, and storage cabinets that are 3 feet tall or more must be properly secured, regardless of their location. For further assistance, please reach out to Matt Kotowski at extension 6428.
