  4. Block Party Protocol • 1.) Read card together and discuss. • 2.) Break from group and find single partner with a different card. • Introduce yourselves. • One person reads their card and then shares their thoughts, connections, and reflections. • Allow partner to comment on excerpt. • Switch & Repeat • Take a second to share any connections, contradictions, or reflections between the two quotes. • 3.) Find a new partner. • 4.) Repeat until you’ve connected on all six quotes (or until time is up). • 5.) Go back to your poster.

  7. Affinity Map Protocol • 1.) If your group has six or more people, split into two (or more) smaller groups. • 2.) One person at a time, share your selections and defend your rankings. • 3.) Affinity Mapping: • Which ideas go together? Move post-its around naturally. • Once in categories, name each category. • What themes emerged? Any surprises? • What’s missing?
