Emergency Services • Current Issues • ESF 4 & 9 • Task 5 and 8 and 1 Engine Strike Team deployed to Hendry/Glades County • 3 Engine Strike Teams on standby • ESF 8 • As of 2:50 PM 10/24/04, 27 SpNS shelters were opened • Census of 2,164 clients • 39 hospitals sustained damage and or/are on generator power • Strike Team deployed to the Keys • DMAT requested in support of Glades hospital • Evacuation complete from Glades Hospital

Emergency Services • Current Issues (cont) • ESF 10 • 2 HazMat teams deployed to west coast impact area • 2 HazMat teams staged at Ormond Beach for possible deployment • Monitoring water levels in phosphate gyp stacks • FlaWARN water facility teams mobilizing to west Florida impact area • Monitoring Florida D7 port status • ESF 16 • 608 State and Local Law Enforcement officers (via Florida Police Chiefs and Florida Sheriffs Association) have been deployed to storm impacted areas

Emergency Services • Unmet Needs • None at this time • Future Operations • ESF 4 & 9 • Complete primary and secondary search in assigned operational areas • Standby for additional resource requests • ESF 8 • Continue: post-impact response and recovery efforts, monitoring fuel needs of hospitals on generators, and deploying teams at the county and regional level based on identified needs • ESF 10 • Assessing damage to state parks • USCG assessing port waterways • ESF 16 • Continue to provide assistance to local law enforcement in impacted areas Up Next – Human Services

Human Services • Current Issues • ESF 6 • Shelters. 8207 people housed in 61 shelters across 13 counties. 34 additional shelters in 14 counties on stand-by. • American Red Cross (ARC) and Salvation Army distributing meals by mobile and fixed feeding sites. • ARC heater meals used for target populations that cannot go to PODS. • Mass Care reps deploying to Monroe County/Key West to evaluate area needs. • ESF 11 • 100 trucks of water and ice delivered to LSA Lakeland for distribution. • 142 trucks of water and 122 trucks of ice remain in storage. • 4 truckloads of baby food ready for deployment. • Over 90,000 cases of USDA foods on hand.

Human Services • Current Issues (cont) • ESF 15 • Continuing to coordinate with County ESF liaisons and volunteer support organizations. • Updating public information on website and media messaging about CARE. • ESF 17 • Incident Management Team (IMT) activated and Incident Command Post (ICP) established. • Coordinating with SART partner agencies and industry representatives for damage assessments and response efforts. • Other HS Functions • Department of Education: 11 schools south of I-4 corridor closed. • Dept of Children & Families, Dept of Elder Affairs, Agency for Workforce Innovation (AWI) and Community Emergency Management Teams (CERTs) monitoring situation and preparing as appropriate.

Human Services • Unmet Needs: • ESF 15 • Cable and phone/computer connection for Volunteer & Donations Hotline (scheduled to activate 10/25/05). • Future Operations: • Continue deploying resources to locations with identified needs. • Continue coordinating USDA commodity deliveries. • Deploy LSA team to West Palm Beach. • Continue coordinating with County ESF liaisons and volunteer support organizations. • Deploy staff to JFO. • Deploy Assessment & Response Teams (ARTs) to ICP. • Establish staging area for animal and livestock feed. • FWC to assess captive/exotic animal facilities. • FDACS Environmental Services establish IMT/ICP procedures for mosquito control. Infrastructure • Current Issues • ESF1&3 • FDOT & CAP Recon teams deployed (ground, fixed and rotary wing) & debris clearance missions • FDOT maintenance yards (fuel) are operational, except Ft. Pierce & St. Lucie • Bridge inspection teams deployed to Florida Keys and Marco Island Bridge • Debris removal team deployed to clear Card Sound Rd and surrounding areas. • MIA, FLL, PBI & EYW airports are closed, and TPA, FMY, RSW & APF are open • Port Everglades and Port of Miami are closed • ESF2 • ESF 2 is staffed and operational; recon/field staff deployed • Currently deployed 229 cell phones, 25 satellite phones, 5air-cards,16 FRS-2 way radios (very short range), 5 Tracstar, 180 POTs • Landline phones outages approx 233,000; Cell wireless coverage approx 85% operational.

Infrastructure • Current Issues • FUEL • No fuel supply issues reported; electric utility outages will limit retail distribution • Seventeen (17) Fuel Tankers mobilized in support of S&R, security and emergency services • One tender pre-deployed to Key West, 1 tanker (9000 gallons) diesel to White Spring State Farmers Market • Other mobile & drop-off tenders/tankers available. • ELECTRIC • FP&L, Co-ops and municipals report that 6,000+ personnel deployed, and out-of-state and mutual aid crews responding • Power outage reports on tracker #380, and Estimated Times of Restoration (ETR) on tracker #390. • Approx 3,251,277 customers without electric service
