  3. Update on porting charge • FCS chaired review meeting on 27th Oct • Vodafone confirmed tied SPs reduce to £0 • BTCellnet, One2One, Virgin, Orange already committed to £0 • Independents retain current £30 guideline • c.90% of porting now fee-free • further review to follow as part of MNP2

Current project status - MNP2 • Recent history…. • Vendor negotiations failed, need to re-tender • Target delivery slipped Q1 to Q3 2001 • MNP-FG recommended 5 week review period • ensure MNP2 spec is still appropriate • consider the context for future-proofing • investigate potential for improving MNP1 short term • Project Board undertook review

Current project status - MNP2 • Review proposal to the MNP-FG: • deliver MNP2 full system spec in September • do not pursue an interim solution • develop an MNP3 for delivery 2002 built from customer upwards taking full advantage of available technologies • MNP-FG agreed this course of action, plus: • tasked the ORG with evaluating operational feasibility of web-less MNP2 as interim and as contingency • feedback end of January

  6. Roadmap - MNP3 • Start work once MNP2 specced to vendor • Customer research • delivery by end 2002 • MNP2 solves existing customer problems • MNP3 moves mobile porting forward eg. • online self-serve • wap • new channels new challenges
