  2. Mobile Number Portability General Process 1-Where can I call to check the status of my Port- in request? You can call our 10 digit helpline number – “9653012345″ 2-What is Unique Porting Code (UPC) and how will I get my UPC? Whenever you want to Port-in with a new service provider, you need to send an SMS PORT to 1900 to generate a unique porting code. This code needs to be clearly mentioned by you in the Port-in form at the time of giving the request. 3-After sending the Port-out request to the Old/ Donor Operator, how much time does it take to receive the Unique Porting Code (UPC)? You will receive the code instantly after you send the SMS. 4-What is the Turn around Time (TAT) for the Port-In Process? Turn around time for complete Port in process is 7 days. (Subject to positive verification)

  3. 5-Can I Port-in from CDMA to GSM and GSM to CDMA? Yes, technology allows you to do cross portability from CDMA to GSM and GSM to CDMA. 6-Will my account balance (Talk time) with current mobile operator be carried forward to the new mobile account? No, the balance amount with the Old operator will be forfeited. 7-What is the No Service period during the number Port-in process? No Service Period will be for a maximum of 2 hours. 8- How will I get the information about my “No Service Period? You will receive an SMS informing you about your “No Service Period” 9-Apart from switching operators, does MNP allow switching services from prepaid to postpaid and vice-versa? Yes, MNP supports switching of services from prepaid to postpaid and postpaid to prepaid.

  4. 10- Can I Port-in to any circle within the country? A- No, with MNP you can Port-in within your home circle only. 11- With MNP is it possible to Port-in from CDMA to GSM and vice versa? Yes, technology allows you to Port your mobile number from CDMA to GSM and GSM to CDMA. 12- After sending a Port-in request to the Donor Operator, is there a possibility to cancel the same? Yes, the cancellation request can be given to the retailer in writing with-in 24 hours of submitting the port-in request. 13- Is there any time period for making a Port-in request? You need to be with your current operator for a minimum of 90 days before switching to other operator. 14-What happens in case my Port-in request gets rejected? You will receive an SMS informing you about the reason for rejection. In that case you can act upon the rejection reason and raise a fresh request for Port-in.

  5. 15- How will I get the information about success / failure of my Port-in request? SMS will be sent to you by Videocon Telecom Services informing you about the status, “No Service Period” and activation time of your Videocon SIM (in case of success). 16- Are there any conditions that I need to fulfill for a Port- in? Conditions to be fulfilled for Port-in are: aYou should have served a period of 90 (ninety) days on your current service provider from the date of activation/ last Port-in. bPort-in can be done within the same circle. cBefore the date of application for porting, you should have no outstanding payments to your current service provider by way of pending bills. dYou should have no pending request to change ownership of your mobile number. eYou should confirm that the mobile number to be ported is not sub-judice. fThe porting of your mobile number should not have been prohibited by the court of law.
