A Robot  That Gives Sponge Baths •  The Robot is called Cody •  Concept from Georgia Tech •  This is a good thing for people who dont want others evading their privacy  •  It's just a concept at the moment  • The robot uses cameras and lasers to evaluate the human’s body, identifying dirty spots, then gently wipes with its towel hands, making sure not to apply too much or too little pressure.

  3. Teddy Bear Robot Nurse • RIBA • Robot for Interactive Body Assistence  • The Japanese created a teddy bear robot that lifts elderly from chairs/beds • Recognizes faces and voices and also responds to voice commands • Weighs 400lb and can lift up to 134lb in its foam padded paws • Looks like a bear to make it less frightening to the patients

Cost:( The thought of robots taking over the world :O the cost of building the robots and installing them Patients could be afraid of robots Benefits:) humans can be lazier patients don't have to worry about their privacy with the robots robots do not care how unappealing the job is Cost and Benefits

Social & Ethical Issues • People and machines     These robots will benefit people who are in need of help to move        or to bathe • Reliability These robots will need to be reliable for people who need them        There is a possibility that these robots could breakdown  or                    malfunction • Control         We are able to maintain control of these robots, unlike humans            who we cannot control. • Equality of Access   Low-end hospitals would probably not be able to afford these                robots
