Characterization of GfIV-C20 ORF1 as a Putative DNA Primase and Related Protein Functions

This study investigates the GfIV-C20 ORF1 gene, proposing its role as a putative DNA primase based on similar functions in viral proteins. We analyze the structure and possible interactions of associated proteins, including ALI-like protein, zinc finger protein, and RNA polymerase subunit C. Additionally, we explore uncharacterized proteins resembling D5 pox-like and other GfV-like proteins. Our findings contribute to the understanding of chromosomal replication mechanisms and identify candidates for further functional studies in viral replication biology.
