  2. Introduction • Maps are important for daily lives. • It is never too soon to learn how to use a map so that you can always find your way.

  3. Objectives • Students will be able to express their knowledge about maps • Students will understand the importance of maps • Students will apply the use of new vocabulary in order to read a map

  4. Objectives (cont’d) • Students will analyze their own personal surroundings • Students will synthesize the relationship of neighborhoods, cities, states • Students will evaluate where destinations are related to one another

  5. Justification “Dr. Comer’s school development program encourages a school collaboration of the home, the school, places of worship, and the community to support the life of the school.”
