Highlights 2006: Quality Assurance • Field QC: continued XAD sampler vs whole water splits • Working with old labs for previous analytes • Se dissolved vs total problem (BRL) • EBMUDNew HRGCMS, & larger samples size (heterogeneity) • Overcame ND problem, still some variability w/ BDE 209 • Axys water extractions (2005 samples) • Switched to ambient extraction method • Better on PAHs, still some BDEs in blanks • Introduced some recovery issues with OP pesticides • Switch of surrogates for 2006 samples

Plans 2007: Quality Assurance • QAPP revision • Met with SWAMP to compare DQI objectives • Drafts to be sent out Q1 ’07 for review/comment • Continued calibration/validation of sampling and analysis methods • Split of some archive tissue samples to new lab (MDL/recovery issues) • Split of water samples with UCSC/commercial lab • Further method development/refinement • (New hire?) to work with labs on BDE 209 issues
