  4. The Nutshells of Grace

  5. Matthew 14:22-33

  6. Matthew 14:22-33 (22-23) Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.

  7. Matthew 14:22-33 (24-26) But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.

  8. Matthew 14:22-33 (27-29) But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

  9. Matthew 14:22-33 (30-31) But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

  10. Matthew 14:22-33 (32-33) And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

  11. Luke 17:11-19

  12. Luke 17:12-19 (12-13) Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said,

  13. Luke 17:12-19 (14-15) “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned,

  14. Luke 17:12-19 (16-17) and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? .”

  15. Luke 17:12-19 (18-19) Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

  16. John 21:15-19

  17. John 21:15-19 (15) So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”

  18. John 21:15-19 (16) He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah,[c]do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

  19. John 21:15-19 (17) He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah,do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

  20. John 21:15-19 (18) Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.”

  21. John 21:15-19 (19) This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”

  22. John 13:37 Peter said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.”

  23. John 18:17 Peter’s 1st Denial Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He said, “I am not.”

  24. John 18:25 Peter’s 2nd Denial Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not!”

  25. John 18:26-27 Peter’s 3rd Denial One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?” Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

  26. John 21:15 Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love(ἀγαπᾷς- “agapas” Agape) Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love(φιλῶ “Philō) You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”

  27. John 21:16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah,do you love(ἀγαπᾷς- “agapas” Agape) Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love(φιλῶ “Philō) You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

  28. John 21:17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah,do you love(φιλεῖς-“Phileis”)Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love(φιλῶ “Philō) You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

  29. Luke 9:58 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay (κλίνω-”Klino” REST) His head.”

  30. John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing(κλίνας- “Klino” – REST) His head, He gave up His spirit.
