  4. How is Children’s Literature defined? • To consider: • Audience • Children’s books are books that have the child’s eye at the center. (P.7) • Context—children’s experience and understanding of the world around them • Content—children read for adventure, enjoyment, vicarious experience, insight into human behavior “A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.” ― C.S. Lewis
