  3. About Myself Name : Karma Galleg Country : Bhutan Organization : Department of Planning, Ministry of Finance Position: Planning Officer & Project Coordinator for M&E System Development Project

  4. My Experience with (P)PME • Associated with formulation of Bhutan’s Five Year Plans since 1996 • Not much experience in the systematic undertaking of M&E • Coordinating the establishment of M&E system in Bhutan- recent responsibility • Attended workshops on Logframe and short M&E training • `

Core (P) PME Issues/Problems to be Addressed • Objectives of National M&E System: • Institute routine & periodic assessments of Five Year Plans • Facilitate easy identification of implementation problems and provide corrective measures • Ensure findings of M&E are transmitted to the policy makers as well as feedback/recommendations are conveyed to the relevant agencies • Reduce the reporting tasks at the field level to enable the field staff to concentrate more on the actual implementation of programs/projects

  6. Core (P) PME Issues/Problems to be Addressed (Contd.) • Main Challenges to be addressed: • Different sectors have different M&E requirements • Building Cooperation and Support from stakeholders • Lack of institutional capacity

My Learning Objectives for the PPME Course • Facilitation and communication skills to effectively coordinate sectors to develop the M&E system • Learn about M&E system design process and techniques • Learn other PPME techniques and tools that can be applied in my work • Learn from other course participants about their experiences in PPME
