  1. New functionalities in VOSpec :Theoretical Models & Spectral Line Access Isa BarbarisiJesús Salgado, Pedro Osuna, Christophe Arviset ESA/VO - European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC)

  2. Theoretical Spectra Access in VOSpec • Goal: unify Real and Theoretical spectra in a common access protocol, as they share many properties • Main differences between both kind of spectra are the following: • Models have specific input parameters • Theoretical spectra are not normalized • Solution : connecting to the<Service URL>&format=METADATA, parsing the output VOTable and creating on-the-fly a java formulary inside VOSpec application. This solution has been developed in a SVO/ESA-VO collaboration • The user will be able to rescale the theoretical spectra using real spectral data for the object to be studied

  3. Theoretical Spectra Access in VOSpec <Service URL>&format=METADATA

  4. Theoretical Spectra Access in VOSpec Theoretical Spectra Real Spectra Normalization

  5. Simple Line Access Protocol (SLAP) • Access to Atomic and Molecular Line databases through the use of the Simple Line Access Protocol • Development of Simple Line Access Protocol URL Service with ISO Astronomical Spectroscopic Database (IASD) by Marie Jourdain de Muizon (Paris Observatory (LESIA)), accessible at:http://esavo02.vilspa.esa.int/slap/jsp/slapBeta.jsp?WAVELENGTH_MIN=18.71&WAVELENGTH_MAX=18.7 • Possibility to access VO SLAP Server from VOSpec • Select wavelength range & display identified lines in that range SLAP Server - IASD Data VOTable Results VOSpec - display lines in that range Connect to VO SLAP Server Parse VOTable, one spectral line per row IASD

  8. Both protocol TSAP and SLAP accessible from VOSpec, available at: http://esavo02.esac.esa.int/vospec/ Isa.Barbarisi@esa.int
