GoDiS VCR Application: Dialogue Management System for VCR Programming

GoDiS is a modular dialogue system developed at the Goteborg University Dialogue Systems Lab for VCR programming over the telephone, enabling scheduling and removing recordings. It utilizes TrindiKit and implements Issue-based Dialogue Management theory for rapid prototyping and domain-independent applications. The system supports user initiative, feedback, grounding, and focuses on action-oriented dialogue plans. A small corpus collected from user sessions aids system improvement and performance evaluation.

Goteborg University Dialogue Systems Lab GoDiS • A dialogue system built using TrindiKit and based on the information state approach • Implements a theory of Issue-based Dialogue Management • Some goals with GoDiS: • Provide a domain-independent theory covering several dialogue genres • Modularity and reusability of system components • Enable rapid prototyping of new applications • Focus on dialogue management • ... not much work done on NL processing before TALK
