Referendums • Definition: Legislation which directly reduces, increases or changes the designated use of student fees • How to get an referendum on the ballot: • Write a referendum using the provided template (UCOP Form and Template) • Turn in Declaration of Intent to File for Initiative or Referendum to ASUCR Front Desk (HUB 202) by February 21, 2014 • Get signatures from 15% of student body or get 2/3 of Senate to pass it • Print the referendum on the Highlander after it is approved • Get approval from VCSA • A majority of 20% of the student body passes the Initiative

Ballot Initiative • Definition: A resolution that lasts for longer than one year • How to get an initiative on the ballot: • Write an initiative using the provided template (Template) • Turn in Declaration of Intent to File for Initiative or Referendum to ASUCR Front Desk (HUB 202) by February 21, 2014 • Get signatures from 15% of student body or get 2/3 of Senate to pass it • Print the Initiative on the Highlander after it is approved • Get approval from VCSA • A majority of 20% of the student body passes the Initiative
