  6. FITNESS 1 & 2 • FITNESS CENTER 2-3 DAYS A WEEK • ACTIVITY CLASS 2-3 DAYS A WEEK • PRE AND POST FITNESS TESTING • CONTENT LESSONS • STUDENTS TRAIN IN TARGET ZONE USING HRM (20 MIN TIZ – 2 DAYS/WK) • USE OF COMPUTER – HRM LOGS • ½ MILE RUNS (4)

  7. WTS & CONDITIONING 1 & 2 • WEIGHT ROOM 4 DAYS A WEEK • ACTIVITY 1 DAY A WEEK • PRE & POST FITNESS TESTS • CONTENT LESSONS • STUDENTS TRAIN IN TARGET ZONE USING HRM (20 MIN TIZ – 2 DAYS/WK) • USE OF COMPUTER - HRM LOGS • MAX LIFTS EVERY QUARTER • ½ MILE RUNS (4)

  8. FITNESS & FOODS • SAME AS THE FITNESS CLASS • COMBINATION OF FOODS & FITNESS ACTIVITIES • MULTIPLE FOODS LABS • LEARN TO PREPARE HEALTHY FOODS • DISCUSS STRESS MANAGEMENT, BODY IMAGE, RECEIPE MODIFICATION, AND MORE • EXPLORE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

  9. NEW FITNESS TESTS RESULTS – IT’S ALL ABOUT RESULTS • RESTING HEART RATE • BLOOD PRESSURE • BODY COMPOSITION • HEART EXERTION AND RECOVERY RATE • (3 MINUTE STEP TEST) • MUSCULAR STRENGTH • MUSCULAR ENDURANCE • FLEXIBILITY (SIT AND REACH)

CONTENT LESSONS • ALL 9TH & 10TH GRADE STUDENTS • 1 TO 2 LESSONS A MONTH • POWER POINTS/ READING/ NOTE TAKING/ ASSESSMENTS • COMPUTER – ON LINE LEARNING • 30% OF FITNESS/CONDITIONING GRADE • 9TH GRADE FITNESS FINAL/PLAN • 10TH GRADE FITNESS PLAN & PROJECT • 10TH GRADE CLASSROOM BASED ASSESSMENT (CBA)

SELECTION PROCESS • WTS & CONDITIONING In order of importance: • Returning students in good standing • Seniors –Juniors-Sophomores-Freshmen • Able to work in a group w/o constant supervision • Able to do Squats & Power Clean & Jerk in class during the semester • Attended Speed & Strength Camp • In Season School Athlete/Out of season Athlete • In Lottery picks when class is full
