  2. Where in the body can the gland be located?Enjoy • As you can see, the adrenal gland is right above the kidneys

  3. What hormones and type of hormones does the gland produce? Enjoy • The adrenal medulla is part of the sympathetic nervous system and is the body's first line of defense and response to physical and emotional stresses.

  4. What affect do these hormones have on the human body? Enjoy • Secretes about 20% noradrenaline and 80% adrenaline • Increases heart rate, stops stomach functions, etc.

  5. Why are these hormones important to the maintenance of homeostasis? Enjoy • Only produce a certain amount of hormones to maintain homeostasis • Adrenal glands affect over a dozen organs that maintain homeostasis, so it’s very closely related to homeostasis • Increased adrenal production stops someone from dying; can stop someone from going into shock

  6. Releasing hormones and Glands, and Release-inhibiting Hormones and Glands. Enjoy • Hormone Releasing Glands: • -Adrenal Gland • -Also produces Cortisol as well as Chromaffin cells, which are the bodies main source of distributing adrenaline and noradrenaline

  7. What happens if the gland does not function properly? Enjoy • Too many or too few hormones may be produced • May cause infertility, cause an inbalance in salt and water in the body • Also may not be able to maintain blood sugar levels
