Making Connections Activity Objectives: “I can identify similarities and differences between the experiences of Africa, India, Latin America, Japan, and China during the 19th and 20th century. “I will create a poster to draw draw connections between events and themes of the 19th and 20th centuries including imperialism, expansion, revolution, and independence.” “I will make sure Ms. Underhill gets my notebook by the end of class so I can get a notebook grade for Term 2 which is 20% of my grade!”

  3. Instructions • Attach words and phrases where they belong on the modified venn diagram. • Decide similar themes for all of these countries. • Draw arrows to specific themes/events/people that connect. • For example: In Africa, Exploratory Motives lead to Imperialism
