Which Company I would choose and why • I would have to say that I would choose Ashland County Sheriff’s Department for a few different reasons: • Pay is much higher ($33,000/year versus $20,800/year) • You can get a State pension • There is a lot more room for advancing depending on if you would want to move to a different department • Sick time can be accrued up to 240 hours versus only being able to carry over a few days each year (min 2 days, max 5 days) with Heights (dependent on years worked with company) • Comp time can be paid out as either overtime or you can take other days off throughout the year

  9. Additional Questions Questions Answers • Do you find your job rewarding/fulfilling? • Do you feel previous employment prepared you for this position? • What do you like most about your job? • Both replied with yes • Both replied with yes • Mr. Foley-Helping the community. Mrs. Monroe-working with customers new, current, and previous.

  10. Reflection • I found that both companies would be nice places to work. As you saw in the the slide show there are many similarities in the two companies but there were also a few differences. I think that both would be rewarding and fulfilling places to work. They both seem to offer the benefits of being able to actually use your degree that you work so hard to achieve. There seems to be room for advancing depending on if you want to change departments or even look at moving out of the area. I would consider employment at either of the two companies that I interviewed.
