Applying Resources You Have • First response of Facilities Staff. • Evaluate in-house staffing. • Identify in-house specialty personnel needed. • Use of outside vendors. • Develop your staff. • Train them to react to emergencies. • Overlapping responsibilities or duties. • Appoint a Project Manager or Lead Supervisor as alternate.

Fire Smoke Damage Scope NC State University McKimmon Center July 26, 2011 Fire Recovery July 26, 2011 General Outline of Areas and Actions This document in conjunction with Sheet 1 and Sheet 2 comprises the initial scope of work necessary for the selective demolition, remediation, cleaning, deodorization and sealing of the smoke and/or fire damaged areas at the McKimmon Center. The work will be performed in multiple phases. The areas are indicated on Sheet 1 and Sheet 2 and are described here as Area 1, Area 2, Area 3 and Area 4. Area 1 Rooms: 7A, 7B, 8A, 8B, 9, 10 Scope of Work: The scope includes but is not limited to: Remove smoke-damaged insulation and replace with new insulation Remove smoke-damaged ceiling tiles and replace with new ceiling tiles Clean, wipe and deodorize ceiling grids, including supply and return grilles Clean, wipe and deodorize ductwork (exterior) Clean, wipe and deodorize speakers and projectors Clean ,wipe and deodorize light fixtures and light switches Clean, wipe and deodorize painted walls Clean, wipe and deodorize fabric on walls Clean, wipe and deodorize carpet on walls Clean, wipe and deodorize doors, door handles, metal frames and glass Clean, wipe and deodorize built-in cabinetry Clean, wipe and deodorize tables Clean, wipe and deodorize fabric on chairs Clean, wipe and deodorize table skirts and table coverings Clean, wipe and deodorize refreshment covers (i.e. coffee urn covers) Clean, wipe and deodorize cove base Clean, wipe and deodorize carpeting Clean, wipe and deodorize trash can Clean, wipe and deodorize equipment: Podiums, white boards, clocks, exit signs, fire alarm accessories, folding partition walls, service carts, overhead projectors, televisions and video cameras

Fire HVAC Scope NC State University McKimmon Center July 26, 2011 Fire Recovery July 26, 2011 General Outline of Areas and Actions This document in conjunction with Sheet 2 comprises the initial scope of work necessary for the selective demolition, remediation, cleaning, deodorization and sealing of the smoke and/or fire damaged areas at the McKimmon Center. This scope of work encompasses the HVAC cleaning. Quote is due at 3pm today, Deliver to R&R office on campus in a sealed folder, for David Hatch. HVAC Cleanup Scope of Work: The Repair and Renovation Services unit of Facilities Operations would like to receive a Lump Sum Estimate, which must include a “not to exceed” final cost, for Cleaning and sanitizing the HVAC equipment supplying the areas that indentified in the detailed drawings. Included in the quote will be the cleaning of the supply fan system and heating and AC coils, all VAV boxes, supply grilles, return system grilles, and extended lined ductwork. Additional repairs as needed in completing the cleaning could be replacement of flex duct or lined systems. All lined duct work that is cleaned will need additional sealant added to encapsulate loose insulation. NOTE: All work to comply with local codes and university standards. Site Logistics and General Conditions Staging Area The contractor will be provided with a staging area for equipment, waste containers, etc.
