  1. 第3版 Mini-world 万花筒

  2. 全球正在变暖,拯救刻不容缓! Greenhouse Effect Do you know about the greenhouse effect? The rays of the sun pass through the glass of a greenhouse. Some of the heat goes out, but most of the heat stays. So, the inside of the greenhouse is warmer than the outside.

  3. The Earth’s atmosphere is like a big greenhouse. Some gases in it are like the big greenhouse’s glass. The rays of the sun pass through the “glass,” and warm the Earth. Then, heat from the Earth goes back into the atmosphere, but the “glass” stops most of the heat. The Earth stays warm in this way. Sadly, there are now more greenhouse gases, and they stop more heat than we need. The Earth is getting warmer, and if we don’t do things to stop it, we will lose our home.

  4. Quiz • 请根据文章内容判断对错。 • The atmosphere is like the glass of a big • greenhouse. ( ) • 2) Greenhouse gases now stop more heat than • we need. ( ) F T

You sled down a hill very quickly. Before you go sledding, you should put on gloves, boots and a bike helmet. They can not only keep you warm, but also prevent you from injury. When you are ready, sit up in the sled, and don’t lie down. Ask your friend to push the sled behind you. Grab the handholds tightly and enjoy!

  12. Skating 溜冰 Do you like skating? It’s cool to skate across the ice. But there is one thing you should always remember: Don’t skate on frozen ponds or lakes! The ice looks strong but it may not hold a child’s weight. You need a pair of safe skates. They should be snug but not too tight. Don’t try to put on lots of socks to wear your brother’s or sister’s skates. It’s not difficult to learn skating. Pick a fine day and have fun on the ice!

  13. Skiing 滑雪 When we go to some cold places, like Harbin (哈尔滨), we often go skiing there. Do you want to enjoy this exciting sport? Then you’d better take a skiing lesson before you start. You can learn a lot of things, like how to stop! And it’s safer to start with easier slopes. Skiing is a little like driving a car. You should learn to share the slopes. If you don’t watch out, you may knock into other people. Anything else you need to know? Yes—go out and enjoy the snow!

  15. Sunscreen Do we need sunscreen outside in winter? The answer is “Yes,” because the sunlight can be reflected from the white snow and back onto your face. Water You may think it is not hot and you don’t need to drink much water, but that’s not right. Breathing in cold air will make you feel dry. So bringing a large bottle of water is a good idea.

Reindeer (驯鹿) live in Norway too. Children also love riding reindeer sleighs. They can have lots of fun in the snow.

  17. When we are spending (度过) winter, the children in Australia are spending their summer. They go swimming and surfing (冲浪) in December because it’s hot and sunny.
