  2. Jess and Leslie thought of the perfect Christmas presents to give each other. Each giver thought about the preferences of the giftee. The givers chose gifts that the recipient would like. At first Jess wanted to make Leslie something. He knew she would like something handmade, but he could get it right. Work like Jess. Make a gift for one of the characters in the book. Unlike Jess, don’t give up! Use evidence from the text to help you decide what to make. In your journal or in a Pages document write a paragraph that explains why you made that present. Support your choices with text evidence. The gift you make can use any kind of materials and be any art form.
