Monday, Oct. 24 • consume (verb) to completely use time, energy, or goods • culture (noun) All of the customs, values, and arts shared by a society. • frigid (adjective) Lacking a warm manner; unfriendly. • knead (verb) to shape dough by pressing, folding, and stretching it with the hands • monopoly (noun)1. Exclusive control or possession of something. 2. complete control of a product or service

Monday, Oct. 24 Pre-AP • consume (v) to completely use time, energy, or goods • culture (n) All of the customs, values, and arts shared by a society. • frigid (adj) Lacking a warm manner; unfriendly. • knead (v) to shape dough by pressing, folding, and stretching it with the hands • monopoly (n) Exclusive control or possession of something or complete control of a product or service • hyperbole- An over exaggeration for effect. Ex: I’m so hungry I could eat a horse. • idiom- A common expression that has a meaning particular to a language or region. Ex: It’s raining cats and dogs. • irony- When the opposite of what you expect happens.
