  2. Remember what happened two weeks ago? • Government shut down because Politicians couldn’t agree • Depression began when Politicians make bad choices

  3. Background-Hoover • Hoover’s Presidency-1929-1933 • October 28th, 1929-stock market crashed • Hoover raised taxes • 1932-unemployment was over 23% • 1932-created RFC-made 1 billion dollars in loans available to businesses

  4. Background-Roosevelt • Roosevelt’s Presidency-1933-1945 • Promised the New Deal- government programs to fix unemployment, homelessness, and economy • Second New Deal-1935-1937 • Social Security Act of 1935- main part of Second New Deal grovesapush.edublogs.org
