Philosophy • Philosophy: • The philosophy of the Tates Creek High School community is to promote international understanding, to educate the whole person emphasizing intellectual, personal, emotional, and social growth, and to develop inquiry and thinking skills with the capacity to reflect upon and evaluate actions critically so the student will appreciate the universal value of human diversity and its legitimate boundaries, while at the same time understanding the common humanity that we all share. The students who satisfy the demands of the International Baccalaureate programme demonstrate a strong commitment to education, both in terms of the mastery of subject content and in the development of wide ranging skills, creating a commitment to lifelong learning.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Objectives: • To raise the level of the academic expectation for all students • To raise the rigor and relevance of instruction for all faculty and staff • To help reduce the achievement gaps currently present • To increase student performance on all state, national, programme, and college entrance assessments • To incorporate rigor, relevance, multicultural and international focus of curriculum which will better prepare students to become life-long participatory citizens of local, national, and international communities of the 21st century. • To better prepare students for their academic and/or vocational futures
