  2. Project Overview PROMOTE THE VOTE! ELECTION DAY is TUESDAY! We hope you all are able to vote for our new community and country’s leaders. We are so proud of the work our students have done to Promote the Vote in our community. Thank you also to Reid Wilson and all parents who have supported our learning. This week, students will discuss the results of the election and complete a reflection on our project.

Reading Skills: 2.1.6- Read aloud fluently and with expression 2.2.1- Use a table of contents 2.2.5- Identify main idea of reading Noise Level 1 • Listen to Leaders read task list. • Gather all materials. • Open to page 70 in your Treasures book. Discuss the Talk About It. • Taking turns with your group members, read aloud Firefighters at Work with your group. The last page is 79. • When you have finished the story, work together complete the comprehension activities with your group. • Turn the papers into the Turn In File with your name on the top. Writing“Election Reflection” PowerPoint Skills and Standards 2.4.1- create a list of leaders 2.4.2- focus on idea in writing 2.4.5- use a computer to draft 2.5.1- write brief narrative Noise Level 1 • This week you will create a PowerPoint on community leaders in your station. • Your PowerPoint must include: • 1. Five examples of community leaders and their role or job. • 2. Your favorite part of our field trip. • 3. How you helped “Promote the Vote” in Columbus. • 4. Five of our vocabulary words from our project (see list in binder) • 5. A description of your favorite book about leaders or the election. • 6. Three or more pictures • 7. Complete sentences and correct spelling • 8. A design and an organized layout. • 9. Self-Selected Reading/Accelerated Reader Standards RF2.4 Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension Noise Level 0 Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. Silently read . After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test.
