  1. Ucaas Providers; Analog Telephone Adapter Explained

  2. Ucaas Providers; Any standard analog phone can be converted to use Voice Over IP (VoIP) by using an analog telephone adapter (ATA). • It converts analog signals into digital signals for outbound calls, which can be understood by local computer networks and the internet. For inbound calls, it does the opposite by converting digital signals into analog signals.

  3. Benefits of Using an ATA

  4. Save Money • A VoIP adapter for each employee’s desk can sometimes save business money compared with owning an entirely new phone for every desk. ATAs enable businesses to save money by using phones they already own. Works With Many Devices • If your customers want to go old school, they can bring their rotary phone into the 21st century with an ATA VoIP adapter. Corded phones and any type of wireless headset should work well with an ATA VoIP adapter. • The majority of our customers using ATAs already own analog phones. However, some have also hooked up their ATAs to fax machines so they can still send paper faxes via VoIP. Even though we provide Electronic Faxing support with our Dash Plans, some clients still use traditional faxing as a part of their workflow. Dash plans also allow you to add a phone number to separate your fax machine from your phone line.

  5. The Downside of ATAs • While VoIP adapters let you keep your existing phones, they cannot turn them into IP phones with full functionality.

  6. Ucaas Providers; Cordless telephones are unlikely to have a touchscreen or to display directory information or call logs visually. They also may not feature direct-to-conference buttons or speakerphone capabilities.

  7. You won’t get the features that even the most basic IP phones we offer when you choose an ATA phone to save a little money.
