  4. Adolescences • Important stage in the development of a person’s self-concept of the person they are and carried throughout one’s adult life. • Recreation programs should focus on • physical, • social, • emotional, • cognitive, • vocational, • ethical health and competencies.

Youth at RiskPro-Social Youth Development • Provide recreation that enable youth to cope with negative situations • Alcohol and other drugs • Misuse of free time • Parental situations • Peer pressure for negative behavior • View the potential (Pro-Social Youth Development) – develop competencies
