  4. Bursting Strength The bursting strength test is used to measure the pressure a paper can withstand before it finally ruptures. It is one of the oldest tests and is performed using the bursting strength tester for paper. Papers to be used for packaging, such as corrugated boxes, paper bags, etc. are tested using this instrument. 4

  5. Ring Crush The ring crush test is used to determine the crush resistance of the paper or cylindrical-shaped corrugated boxes, against an edge-wise compression. This measure helps in knowing the capacity of the material to withstand damages during storing and handling. 5

  6. GSM Gsm or grammge or basis weight of paper, boards, and paper tissues refers to the weight per unit area of the specimen.   7. Short Span Compression Strength As the name suggests, the short span compression test measures the compression strength of the paper or corrugated board over a short span of compression.
