Air Force Junior ROTC • Purpose: Instill in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment • Do Not Recruit for the Military • There is NO contract with the government • No service obligation • Benefit • If going to college • Leg up on scholarships • Military scholarship advantage • If enlisting in the military after high school • Enter at higher rank • Up to $400 increase in pay for 3-4 years of JROTC

  18. Academic Team Academic Team is a class that concentrates on the study of math and science with the purpose of competing. We attend several meets in the fall but primarily compete in the winter and spring. If we qualify we attend the STATE meet in San Antonio. This is not just for geeks but for anyone who wants to improve their calculator skills, learn to do math tricks in their head, and expand their understanding of science.

  33. The Three Legged StoolStudents, Parents, Directors • Students are members of a growing group of young musicians. They should expect to work on learning their music at home, make all of the before school sectionals, any after-school rehearsals, make a commitment to be a team player by being a good leader, be prepared to learn a lot of new techniques and music, and assist others while seeking their assistance too. • Parents are members of the MHS Orchestra Booster Club – The booster club helps coordinate fundraising towards assessments that pay for trips and needs of the orchestra: provide physical support for the orchestra such as purchasing equipment, maintaining concert dress uniforms, providing food, chaperoning trips, assisting with concerts. • The director will be there to teach new techniques, improve the old ones, find challenging and exciting music, and provide guidance in all things orchestra. • We are a team committed to helping each other learn, grow, and communicate music through our performances.   35. THEATRE AT MFHS Theatre I is a course that counts as a fine arts credit. In this class you learn theatre history, basic acting skills, stage design, and special effects. You also have opportunities to perform in campus performances. Theatre Production. This course is at Midland High School, and you are part of advanced acting and technical training for the High School performances. You must audition for this class your 8th grade year!!!!! Drama Club- anyone can join drama club to be a part of the theatre excitement.

  36. SPEECH AT MFHS Communication Applications is a class that teaches you how to prepare public presentations and communicate with others. You can also compete in speaking and acting events twice a year in the Spring and Fall Tournaments.
