  1. What is a sentence? A sentence is a complete idea. It always starts with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark.

  2. There are two types of sentences: • Statement • Question

  4. A statement is a sentence that tells something. It starts with a capital letter and ends with a period (.) Statement • The dog ran. • Bob hits the ball. • My book is about frogs. • Not a statement • The dog • Hits the ball. • My book.

  5. Let us try to understand more about statements.

  8. Correct The phone is ringing. This sentence is a statement, so it gets a period.
