  1. Lifestyle of Gay Men: • ex. The gay couple in Modern Family (Mitchell and Cameron)Mitchell is working as a lawyer (thus has the job of a stereotypical husband who brings the money in) Cameron works at home, mostly cleaning and looking after their adapted child (thus covering the role of a stereotypical woman). However Cameron has worked as a music teacher in a school portraying his love for music and kids as well as his interest in theatrical musicals, as we get to see an episode of him arranging one. • According to society, the one is presented as a woman and the other one more as a man • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mh4eXrQ34U at 0:45 • -they wish to become a family therefore they adapt a Vietnamese child • and are both actively involved in the child’s growing up eg. They both take her at school, and take different classes with her where parents stay with their children, and also gymnastics classes where Cam and Mitchell's competitive spirits has the rest of the parents turning on them. Relationship with people of other sexualities • -They usually hang out with other gay men, whether it’s a couple or just a friend, eg the attend parties organized by gay men, yet they have nights in with also straight couples. • However they don’t tend to hang around with lesbians.   3. Hobbies "Gay men are into fashion, have tidy apartments, and love Madonna!" • Interest in Fashion is one of the main stereotypes when it comes to gay men. Many gay characters in series/films have as a job or hobby something related to the fashion industry • Ex: ugly betty, the devil wears prada • http://youtu.be/zicgut4gpwU?t=1m7s in this movie the gay character (nigel) acts like the “fairy godmother” for the protagonist who supports and gives her a makeover that will “change her life”.
