So…you want to be a teacher? • 1992: approval of the TA&MU system council • GPA = 2.6 in 4 areas • Test Scores (RWM) • 4 ENGL • B or better in COMS • C or better in Child Growth and Development • Complete College Algebra • Test scores
Application Process • Application form + $35 +folder • 3 letters of reference • 2 written/edited prompts • Signed Acknowledgement Form • Meet with advisor (course sub forms) • Signed checklist • Successful completion of the Screening Instrument
Screening Instrument • Interview with professors and experts in the field of education • Writing samples, scored by professors and experts in the field of education • Admission recommendation from the C&I Department to the Teacher Education Council • Teacher Education Council vote
What if I don’t make “THE CUT?” • Letter from officials • Meet with advisor • Creation of the Professional Growth Plan • Completion of the Professional Growth Plan • Re-application, as appropriate (interview/writing, re-take/take course requirements)
