4. (Friends) Simile Poem Friends are like family They are as sweet as can be And Mean as a dog protecting his family Family is as close as a dog with its puppies And love like a marriage

5. Onomatopoeia (Breakfast) The pan went “Ping” as it hit the floor. The eggs were sizzling while they were cooking on the stove. The bacon went pop. pop. pop. Grits on the stove went “Bloop” as it bubbled. While the pancakes were golden brown. Mmm Mmm Good.

6. Where I'm From I am from the sunshine state, from oranges and clothes. I am from the peach house with flowers. I am from the palm tree, the orange tree flower. I am from macaroni and cheese, and the seafood. I am from Sunday dinners and my hair from my mother and aunt. I am from the forget things fast and eating sour grapefruits. From “treat people the way you want to be treated” and “get all the education you can and do something with it”. I am from church every Sunday. I'm from Bay Front Medical Hospital, cornbread and pound cake. From the my aunt asked my uncle out first, they got married a couple years later. I am from Tanya Dowdell And I am Elohna Evita Elise Bailey.

Sonnet No ceiling here, the pure high air is sweet, You cannot hope to know until you try, A voice that cries and wings that are on beat, A dreaming bird in a dark blue midnight sky, Your life is small, while the endless sky is vast, Take a flaming chance and roll the dice, Vanish in rising wind, all sorrows past, To never land's worth any sacrifice, All that you want and need is named a sin, To distant mountain heights you cannot gauge, Nobody sees the shining heart within, Open the book of shadows, turn the page, Far over misty mountain peaks snow-white, Fly high and don't surrender in your fight.

Pills N Potions-Nicki Minaj Yo, people will love you and support you when it’s beneficial I'mma forgive, I won't forget, but I'mma dead the issue Soon as you out a peoples life is when they start to miss you They see you doin' good now, it’s kinda hard to diss you They be sick when they remember all the bad they wished you They be mad when they can't come and live lavish with you The reason why I chose this part of “Pills N Potions” is because everyone loves and support you when you want them too. You can forgive but not forget. Just forget about the issue. As soon as you out of others lives they will miss you. They see that your doing good so they stop throwing hate on you.

Fly- Nicki Minaj “Me, me, me against them Me against enemies, me against friends Somehow they both seem to become one A sea full of sharks and they all smell blood They start coming and I start rising Must be surprising, I'm just surmising I win, thrive, soar, higher, higher, higher, more fire” - Nicki Minaj I chose these lyrics from the song “Fly”. Because she's saying that you only have yourself. That its you against the world. You man have battles with your friend or enemies. Some of your friends turn against you and go on the side with the enemy so they both come into one. “A sea full of sharks and they all smell blood”, I think that means that all of your enemies see you and they all talk bad about you.

14. All things Go – Nicki Minaj I look beyond what people say, and I see intent Then I just sit back and decipher what they really meant Cherish these nights, cherish these people Life is a movie, but there'll never be a sequel - Nicki Minaj I picked these lyrics because it means something. It means that she looks into the hate and tries to see the purpose of it. You should cherish the nights and days because you never know when your last day is. “Life is a movie and there’ll never be a sequel”, that means live life to the fullest because you only live once. That is why I chose this song.

15. Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me This part of the poem is telling you that she doesn’t think she's cute and she has no secrets to hide. When she tells them that they think that she's lying. She then describes herself. She says that she is a woman. A phenomenal woman. That is what she is.

16. How Many Times – K. Michelle “They complain about our attitude, talk about the things we do. To me it seems so obvious, they like it they keep coming back for more.” –K. Michelle I chose these lyrics because almost every boy complains about a girls attitude. Saying how we have bad attitudes and then they don’t want to deal with it. They also talk about what we do around their friends. So she said its obvious to her because maybe she feels the vibe they give back to her. But after they break up with you they see you moving forward. Once they noticed that you move on they are going to want you back.
