Organ Processing and Pathology Core
The Organ Processing and Pathology Core, led by Dr. Martha Campbell-Thompson, serves as a central repository for tissues procured through our program. We facilitate the reception, processing, and distribution of organs, tissues, serum, and peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) from organ procurement organizations (OPOs) to approved research centers. Our capabilities include whole organ dissection for frozen and fixed samples, slide preparation using H&E and immunohistochemistry staining, and advanced image analysis for data processing—all supported by a robust Lab Information Management System (LIMS).
