Operations Strategy Yr3 3-yr Cycle Yr1 Yr2 Tactics Membership Committee - FY06 Goals & Objectives HQ is accountable for the quality of SWE services & products as well as assuring the proper resources are allocated. SWE Committee is accountable for strategic vision and goal setting 1 - Jt Membership: Tools & Programs for sections (jt w/ Region governors) (Strat 1, Goal 3.1) 2 - Web Seminars in November 2005 (Strat 2, Goal 3.3) & April 2006 (Strat 2, Goal 1.3) 3 - Complete the transition to a strategic committee... Redefining focus, name, procedures, integrate RCMCs, etc... 1 - Develop FY07 programs as a result of the COR FIG White Papers & Mega Issue (Strat 1, Goal 2.1, Goal 3.1) 2 - Develop a Program Eval Process/tool to be used across the committees & evaluate Membership programs as a pilot (Strat 2, Goal1.3) 3 - Develop a Member Satisfaction evaluation operating mechanism Both teams must work as one to effectively develop, and continuously improve upon, the programs that will realize the strategic vision 1 - Membership Recruitment Program Award - Year 1 2 - Membership Website... Execute on. (Strat 2, Goal 3.2) 3 - Focus FY06 Membership Workshop on "How to relay Value & Benefit to CPC/Corporate Members?" (Strat 4, Goal 2.1)

Collegiate Upgrade Program • Purpose of Collegiate Upgrade Program is to encourage recent graduates to continue • their membership and participation in professional sections or as a MAL after graduation • by offering a reduced membership rate. Status of Current Upgrade Program Efforts • Parent’s Letter • In April 2004, 1611 letters were mailed, 175 individual payments made using a special code (through 6/30/2005) and of those individuals 55 have renewed for FY06 • In April 2005, 1794 letters were mailed, 69 individual payments made using a special code to date • Letter to member upon graduation • E-mails regarding membership renewal • Reminders throughout the year for collegiate membership upgrades on SWE News FY06 Collegiate Upgrade Program Efforts • Survey Sections • After conference, each section will take survey at www.swe.org/collegiateupgradesurvey • Survey will include questions regarding current upgrade practices, and suggestions for the future such as additional literature or posters, special events honoring recent graduates at Regional and National Conferences, etc. • Survey results including best practices will be posted on the web by June 2006 • New literature and/or program to be introduced in FY07 in response to survey results • HQ to continue distribution of Parent’s Letter • HQ to continue e-mails and membership reminders on SWE News

  16. Roles The RMC primary role is a REGIONAL resource with representation on the National Committee. This position was developed to assist the region governors in maintaining a regional focus on professional membership - retention & growth. The RMC secondary role is to give the national committee a diversified look at our professional membership needs across the nation. The RMC tertiary role is to share professional membership best practices that result from the efforts at the regional level. Responsibilities To support the Region governors in interfacing with section officers and the region Section Vitality Coordinators to increase professional membership numbers and involvement of members in the organization To make certain that professional membership information is captured and distributed, both from HQ downward, as well as from the membership upward. The RMC position is highly influential as both a resource and a recipient of feedback for Section members frustrated with membership or section organization issues. Identify and evaluate professional membership trends (including review of monthly membership reports from HQ) and inform the Region governor of region membership status. RMC Roles & Responsibilities

Key Tasks: 1.  Troubleshoot and answer questions for sections regarding professional membership problems 2.  Promote the professional membership drive at the regional level. 3.  Help identify areas that could potentially organize new professional sections and encourage development of new sections from the Members-at-Large (MAL) and existing sections 4. Work closely with the RCMC to coordinate Region wide membership efforts (professional and collegiate) 5. Interface with appropriate Region Governor on professional membership activities. 6.  Track regional professional membership numbers and distribute tallies to section presidents 7.  Coordinate with the Region Governor information related to professional section activity level and numbers. Recommend to the Regional Governor if a section should be declared inactive or disbanded, as appropriate. 8.  Assist with membership activities at the national conference (e.g., membership table at registration, membership workshop, membership meeting, etc.) 9.  Provide monthly reports of regional professional membership activities to the Membership Chair for inclusion in the Committee report to the Board of Directors (BOD) (dates to be defined by Chair to coincide with BOD meetings). RMC Key Tasks
