  3. Important Dates • Today • January 22nd-Freshman Fest • January 29th-H.S. counselors to Math • January 29th & Feb. 7th-Evening Workshop @ high school • February (?) Mentors to Homeroom • Spring-High School Visit (April) & other activities TBD • 2nd week of August-Freshman Tours & hot dog roast

  4. Mentoring Program • February (??) • Develop a list of questions in HR • High school students • Answer question • We are all here to help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Survey Results • Current H.S. Freshman-Science I • Homework is given 1st day/week of school • Was not prepared for the homework • Wasn’t aware of what HS was like • Hard to manage everything 1st qrt.

  6. What can you do now? • Prioritize-academics over social time • Get homework done nightly • Use class time appropriately • Hand in work on time • Organize • Don’t rely on extra-credit • Know that your teachers care

  7. Don’t Forget!!!!! • Prepare yourself now for high school • Tell parents about January newsletter • Be thinking of questions • Attend January 22nd-Freshman Fest • Discuss transition with parents • Don’t be afraid to ask questions
