  1. Welcome to 9th grade math Algebra and Geometry

  2. How to be successful in math • Always have your • Note book ( A4) size • Pencils • Erasers • Homework • Ipad • Great Attitude.

  3. Math Expectations • Be polite and let others learn

  4. Class expectations • Follow the instructions of teachers promptly;

  5. Class expectations • Treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself;

  6. Class expectations • Enjoy your learning and have high expectations of what you can achieve. • We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. • Aristotle

  7. Class routine • You will have your big book ready for class daily . • . A4 size book with squares.

  8. Class routine( step 1) • Every day you will have a class starter with at least 3 questions to answer in your book . You will complete those questions immediately . These questions will be a review of work previously done

  9. Class routine ( step 2) • After completing the class starter you will have your homework available . We will grade the homework in class. You will exchange books. Do not rip your homework out of your big book.

  10. Class routine( Step 3) • Presentation of new lesson for the day or review of previous lesson. • You will take notes, ask and answer questions and complete the required exercises for the lesson.

  11. Class routine ( step 4) • In your groups continue to work on the required exercises, ask questions and start your home work assignments. You should make sure that you understand what was taught that day.

  12. Quizzes • You will have on line quizzes to complete . • The quizzes could be weekly or any time • The quizzes will help you to know what you need to study or get help with. • You will have a big SWQ in the middle of the term for all your classes. • It is important that you study for your quizzes.

  13. Tests • You will have a test at the end of 4 sections. The questions will be from the required exercises. • The goal of the test is to get you ready for your SWQ and EOT .
