  3. Hours • Open 8:00 AM • Welcome before school to read, study, research, do homework (with a library pass only). • Talk with friends?? – Stay outside. • Close 4:00 PM

  4. ID Badges • The library sells replacement IDs and lanyards for $3.00 each. • Replacements are sold each day from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. • You may purchase an extra ID and we will keep it in the library for you. • You will need your ID to check out library books and to use the computers for research.

  5. Circulation • 4 books for a 2 week period • Renew one time only • 1 magazine – overnight only; due by 8:35 AM the next day • Reference books used in library only • Substitute teachers will not bring classes to the library

  6. Book Drops • We have 2 book drops. • One is located at the circulation desk. • The other is located in the hallway at the front of the library. • Please turn your books in to one of these locations.

  7. Fines, Damages, and Lost Books • No fines for late books • If you have a book that is 1 month or more overdue, you will not be allowed to check out books until the overdue book is returned. • When your book is 2 months overdue, you will be doing lunch detention until the book is returned.

  8. Fines, Damages and Lost Books • Damages are assessed on an individual basis. • Lost books – the entire cost of the book

  9. Computers • We have 4 dedicated PAC stations. • We have 12 Internet computers. • Use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right, and access will be withdrawn from users who do not respect the rights of others or who do not follow the rules and regulations established by Navo Middle School and the Denton Independent School District.

  10. Library Passes • If you would like to come to the library in the mornings before school or during your lunch period, you must apply for a library pass. You will be able to pick up your library pass application in the library from September 1 – September 11. • Only a limited number of passes will be issued. So please understand that not all applicants will receive one.

  11. Library Passes Continued • A list of approved students will be posted on the library doors on September 18. • Approved students may pay for and pick up their passes on September 18. • Approved students may begin using their pass as soon as they pay for it and pick it up.

  12. Reminders • Please do not reshelve books yourself. Place them on one of the empty carts located at the end of the bookshelves. • Please remember that you need a pass when coming to the library from class, and you will need your ID to check out books or use the computer. • No food or beverages are to be brought into the library or consumed here.

  13. Reminders • The library is an area for research, study, and reading. It should be quiet so that all may concentrate without distractions. • You are expected to leave the library clean and neat – be sure to put trash in the trash can and push your chair in. • Students who are unable to follow these rules will lose their library privileges.
